Why are banks buying their own foreclosures at real estate auctions?
Question by Mateo: Why are banks buying their own foreclosures at real estate auctions?
I’ve been to a few New York Real Estate auctions at courthouses recently and often the banks are buying the properties back, They either have a specified bid they come in with or will outbid the public. I don’t understand. Don’t these banks want these properties off the books?

Banks have a minimum bid they will accept at a foreclosure auction. If that price isn’t met at auction, the banks can opt to keep the property and then resell it later.

Can a real estate agent show an auctioned home foreclosed a week ago?
Question by Winter Star: Can a real estate agent show an auctioned home foreclosed a week ago?
We are tenants of a home that has been auctioned less than a week ago. The previous owner put the house for sale and the sale sign has not been removed after it has been auctioned off as a foreclosure. The agent is calling to inform there will be a showing. We are wondering if this is okay as the house was put up for sale by the landlord who went into foreclosure and the house now does not belong to him anymore. We don’t know who bought the house yet. Pl advice.

I am aware of several houses each month that are posted to be sold at foreclosure auctions- that the sale ends up being delayed and rescheduled. If you don’t know who owns the house it may still be the original owner.
There are a lot of people going to be trying to get into your home over the next few weeks. If you choose to keep living there- you may have that right- but these people may be coming up to your door at all hours just the same.

For the simpleist of answers just read your local newspaper. Any auction must be advertised a minimum of three times. You can teake note of auctioneers mentioned and call them to see when one would be coming up, you can also ask the bank when this might happen.pp

Real Estate auctions?
Question by michigangutcrush: Real Estate auctions?
If Im looking to buy a foreclosure at a Sherriffs auction and dont have the full amount in 30 days. Can I pre arrange with a lender to lend me the amount after I buy It( pay the 10% down). Like anything under 30,000 or whatever they pre approve me for. Is this possible?
Best answer:
Answer by Business Mom
you did not list what state you are in.
however, most trustee sales or real estate autions (whatever you want to call them) require proof of the full amount on the day that you bid. usually high bidder wins and you must supply your money at that time. it is usally cash and carry, but first contact your local sheriff and ask if they will aceept this type of arrangement. my guess is not….but you never no…the worst they can say is no.
good luck
